Our Objective

The objective of the charity is to address and alleviate poverty in India and provide essential support to young people in London, particularly those from ethnic minority communities. In India, the charity focuses on providing grants, services, and items to individuals in need, as well as supporting other organizations that share the mission of poverty relief. For young people in and around London, the charity offers guidance and organizes programs aimed at skill development, education, and promoting social welfare. By empowering young individuals, the charity seeks to help them become independent, mature, and responsible members of society. Additionally, the charity extends its efforts globally by providing humanitarian aid in response to natural disasters and large-scale emergencies.

Our Purpose

The charity’s purpose is to provide vital assistance to underserved communities both locally and internationally. In India, it works to prevent and relieve poverty through direct aid and support for other charitable organizations. In London, the charity aims to empower young people, particularly from ethnic minority backgrounds, by offering educational resources, career support, and recreational opportunities to improve their quality of life. The charity also offers scholarships to underprivileged children in India to help them pursue education. Through voluntary donations from generous individuals, businesses, and corporates, the charity works to create a positive and lasting impact, addressing the needs of vulnerable groups and improving the social and economic conditions of the communities it serves.

We provide educational support to children from underprivileged families by identifying those in need and offering resources to help them succeed academically. Our goal is to ensure that thosee children have the opportunity to access quality education and build a brighter future, regardless of their background.

We are committed to improving the quality of life for individuals in need by providing essential support, resources, and opportunities for personal development. Through targeted programs in education, employment, and social welfare, we help people overcome challenges and build a better, more fulfilling future.

Homeless & Jobless Income Support

We offer vital income support to homeless and jobless individuals, helping them navigate their path to stability and self-sufficiency.

Long-Term Illness Support

We provide financial support to individuals facing long-term illness, helping them manage the financial burdens that come with extended medical treatment and living with chronic conditions. Our assistance ensures that those affected can focus on their health and recovery without the added stress of financial hardship.

Marriage Support

We offer financial support to individuals and families facing challenges related to marriage, including those experiencing financial strain due to wedding expenses or marital difficulties.

Widow Welfare Program

Our Widow Welfare Program provides essential financial support to widows facing economic hardship after the loss of their spouse. Through direct assistance, we aim to help widows maintain stability, meet their basic needs, and regain their independence. By offering this support, we seek to empower widows and improve their quality of life, ensuring they have the resources to rebuild and thrive in the face of adversity.

Our Projects

Over the years, Candle of Hope International has launched numerous projects to support and uplift underserved communities.

Drinking Water Project

Following the devastating landslide in Wayanad, many wells and water sources were damaged, making them unsafe for use. One such well, relied upon by approximately 20 families, was also severely impacted. Candle of Hope International took swift action to reconstruct the well, completing the work in just two weeks. Through this initiative, COHI was able to restore access to clean and safe water for the affected villagers.

Wayanadu Appeal

In Wayanad, three catastrophic landslides and mudslides struck overnight, causing widespread devastation with hundreds of lives lost and many more injured. Two towns were completely destroyed. In response, Candle of Hope International delivered food kits, clothing, daily essentials, and medicine to those in need, offering critical support to the survivors during their time of recovery.

Asman Special School

In India, there is a school called Asman, part of Markazu Saqafathi Sunniya, dedicated to supporting children with special needs. Unfortunately, the desks and other essential items were old and in poor condition. With the help of funding from COHI, the school was able to purchase new desks, providing these children with the tools they needed to succeed in their educational journey.
